The interface is simple and comes with a variety of tunings for guitar,
including standard and open tunings, Drop D and 12-string. ToneTune
has over 60 tunings for stringed instruments: violin, cello, mandolin,
ukulele, banjo, lute and a whole bunch more.
There's a handy Notes page that lets you hear single notes and lists
them with their frequency [to 2 decimal places] and MIDI note number
[0-127].
The cheapest digital guitar tuner you can find that outputs tones is
probably at least $15. ToneTune is a great app! I know it will come
in handy for me.

ToneTune is an innovative tuning application that lets you tune your
instruments by ear fast. I am personally not an expert when it comes
to music, but being able to tune my guitar is a big deal to me. Whether
you own a violin, a tambura, or just a sangen, you are covered with
ToneTune.
You are going to need a good headphone to get the best out of this app.
You get 128 playable notes, and the interface is very intuitive, allowing
you to find the right instrument or notes easily. You can also adjust
the frequency, volume, and delay before play.
All in all, if you are a musician looking for app to help you tune your
stringed instruments, look no further than ToneTune. No matter how popular
your instrument, there is a good chance its covered by ToneTune (my
Iranian tar was!). I highly recommend this app to anyone who's passionate
about producing and playing music.

If you have an iPhone and also happen to play an instrument, then you
will quickly find ToneTune to be of extreme benefit. ... for those who
own instruments, you will know how difficult it can be to tune your instrument,
especially if you are just starting new. Searching through the web, books
or even paying for lessons can be both tiresome and expensive but ToneTune
gets rid of that hassle.
You get over 60 different tunings which cover the typical guitar tunings
but you also get a taste of various tunings from around the world, which
is pretty neat when you think about it. Most local help books and the
like only include local tunings, so at least with this app you will be
receiving a few extra bonuses!
So how do you use it? That's the easy part. You first select your choice
of instrument and the tuning and then tap the graphic to get the right
tuning.
Another great benefit to this app, and this is mostly for people who may
be just getting into musical instruments, is ToneTune comes with a full
help section. This is not just your typical few sentences and that's it.
This is a FULLY detailed help section that makes the process of tuning
your stringed instrument very easy.

Perfect Pitch
Whether you use standard tuning or an alternative tuning method to get
the perfect sonority for your stringed instrument, the fact remains
that it can often be a time-consuming and arduous task to accurately
tune your instrument. If you are a musician performing live, time is
an even more precious commodity so being able to tune your instrument
quickly and accurately is essential.
ToneTune to the Rescue!
ToneTune from Stanton Studio, LLC is a brand new iPhone and iPod Touch
application that is the perfect, portable tuning solution that is very
quick to use and fits in your pocket.
ToneTune is a multiple tuning fork that helps you to tune the strings
on your stringed instrument to the correct pitch by ear without searching
through hard-to-find books or the Web. The latest version has more tunings
for instruments than other competitors and best of all, the user interface
is more intuitive.

Need A Virtual Tuning Fork? There's An App For That
Cool iPhone app of the day: ToneTune, a "multiple tuning fork"
that helps tune stringed instruments to the correct pitch by ear, "without
searching through hard-to-find books or the web."
The application is loaded with standard and alternate tunings, (and)
includes the bouzouki, the banjo, and the 4-stringed biwa (and that
is just among the "B" listings). Retailing for $2.99 in the
iTunes app store, it's a lot less expensive than a separate electronic
tuner, and would be nice for carrying around tuning information in your
pocket.
We have a viola player, a guitarist, and two fiddlers at our house,
so I can see how having a tuner on your iPhone could cut down on arguments
over who gets the pitch pipe. :-)
