The drumlin field between Madison and Milwaukee is one of the largest in the United States with about 5000 drumlins. The terrain is generally flat or rolling, and is made up largely of drumlins, oblong hills oriented lengthwise northeast to southwest in the direction of the glacial ice flow. Watertown is in the center of the image.
